Longevity Burn-In Investigative Paths After 3 Months

QD-OLED vs. WOLED, LG vs. Sony, And More

permanent image retention (burn-in).

Strokes new Samsung QN90B.

:D

Never buying OLED until they can guarantee me burn-in is completely eradicated and they will back that up with a no-quibble refund. I'd rather just enjoy my fantastic new TV without every having to worry about my experience being ruined by IR and BI.

Burn in any worse on these than on plasmas?

Have a 14 year old plasma here that’s been absolutely fine for ir and burn in.

No burn in on my cx after a year. But then I don’t leave it on the same channel for 24 hours a day. Test is nonsense. I will continue to enjoy the rich blacks and great colours with my normal use mixed content.

Edit: checked the testing methology. Not a bad test. Although does not reflect my usage. And no issues with my tv.

Better than looking at greys instead of pure black day in, day out.

:p

No greys on my TV, great black levels and insane brightness, and great detail to boot. Best of both, and never getting any burn-in whatever I do with my TV. If it wasn't an issue then OLED TV's wouldn't need pixel cleansing etc...

;)

Tbf my brother managed to get burn in on a tn monitor which I think was quite an achievement.

I get burn in like image retention on my Dell S2716DG TN on high contrast boundaries if I leave a web-page static for a few hours, etc. it goes away with a bit of non-static content but not good.

I've had a couple of displays which are notorious for burn in which have never exhibited it all though despite my usage often involving a lot of static content.
