A friend of mine has had to go up North unexepectedly for a few days and left me to look after her dog. All I have to do is feed him once a day and walk him twice a day.

However I felt quite bad just now leaving him in the house by himself in the dark. I considered bringing him back to mine, but I wasnt sure if a dog liked to be taken out of his home into another strangers house. Ive never owned one. What do you all reckon? Hes v friendly, doesnt bark, well house trained etc.

I would take him back to yours and see how he is mate. You can always take him back home if he clearly doesn't like it. I don't think it will be a problem.

Nice one for doing ya mate a favour.

You could try him at yours, depending on the nature sure be ok. Let it investigate the area, and show it where the toilet area will be etc.
Alternatively perhaps you can spend more time at his??

Dog is probably used to it, unless the owner leaves the light on for him at night time!

True but it gives the dog some company. As long as he isn't a hassle for panthro, probably the better choice.

Just bring him round to yours. Bit harsh leaving a dog for several days with only 2 walks and you feeding him as the only company he gets.

I think I will bring him round tomorrow......depending on what my friend says as she isnt contactable till tomorrow when she phones me. Im going round first thing tomorrow morning to walk him before work, so I will see how he is.

Another vote for bringing it back to your place. Dogs like company and if I were you I wouldn't be able to sleep because I knew the doggie was all on his ownio.

As said take the dog to yours, whilst he may be a little bit unnerved being in a different house I'm sure he would be less stressed than being left by himself in an empty house for that amount of time.

When I looked after my mates dog, I'd pop in to feed and walk him, then when I left I'd leave the living room light on and the radio (in the same room) on at a lowish volume.

The same with cats I've looked after (except I didn't walk the cats).
