Looking at buying a new g card

You sure? From what I recall the while the new driver does somewhat improve the performance, it certainly does not "cure" the problem and the 7970 still loses more % on MSAA application than the GTX580 by quite a margin. I'm pretty sure it's down to architecture design...and it's not something driver can resolve completely.

And dave would be the last person I listen to for advise, with his over the top pro AMD and anti Nvidia antic. He is the only one insisting the 7770 is a decent release, even at that kind of price point. In his perfect world, AMD can do no wrong.

Hmm if someone makes negative comment on skin colour they are racist? How is making negative comment on hair colour any different?

To me it reads I'm ignorant and stupid and those two things usually come hand in hand with being racist.

Wow ! talk about mountain out of a mole hill !

FYI I have brown and ginger hair. The ginger hair becomes far more noticeable when I grow a beard as 90% of that beard will be ginger.

You see, my father was a full on ginge. That means I am what you would class as a day walker.

IE I carry the recessive ginger gene and am covered in freckles.

Thus because I feel like I can make light of it (gingervitis isn't fun !) that doesn't make me a racist.

Infact, on the contrary I was born and raised in Brixton. Thus, if I were a racist I would likely be a dead racist.

Also. Having a sense of humour doesn't make some one ignorant. It just means that they don't walk around all day with their panties in a bunch.

I'm sure you can appreciate it is a delicate subject and how others may find this offensive even if you don't. Just because it's OK with you doesn't mean that it'll sit well with others. Because you have ginger hair it's OK for you to post negative comments in relation to those that do? Nonsense..

I enjoy a good laugh as much as the rest but is there any reason to make stupid one sided hate comments in a public forum?
 
Lol @ thread, ginger isn't a race of people, so therefore criticism of ginger hair isn't racism.

Back on topic, the 7970's with the new driver can max out BF3 with 4xMSAA and not see as much as fps hit as the 580's do.

Yeah I saw the card that was pulled off the shelf.. But instead of trying to bait me into getting annoyed you could try another perspective? I mean it might be worth a shot.. If you have self confidence issues that's fair enough. There are other ways to deal with it though.
