Looking at getting a used D90 or D80 as a backup camera...

The D90 adds video support and is better in low light.

I'd personally go for the D90, but then I'm only really shooting live music at the moment so loads of ISOs are handy (at the moment I use a D60, which isn't really very good over 800).

My general impression has been that the D90 is worlds better than the D80, I would go with that, but of course it depends on what you want to use it for and what you want it to be backing up?

The D80 overexposes far more often than the D90. I went from a Sony DSC-R1 to a D80 and bitterly regretted it. Swapped to a D90 a year later and was happy again.

I have a d90 and love it, great camera, the video however is just a novelty and not really worth thinking about as a deal breaker!

Second the above.

I also have the D90 and whilst I also love it, the video is more a novelty indeed, and seems to have some wavy stuff going on. I think I would also prefer more focus points as well, such as with the D7000. Which I am thinking of upgrading to, as I doubt I will be able to afford the D300 replacement which should be out later this year.

But for a backup camera it should be excellent, and worth the extra £150 or so over the D80.

^^^
Tbh 99% of the time I only use 11 focus points anyway, both when I had a D7000, and now with my D700 as it allows me to change my composition/focus point quicker.

If I had the cash I'd get another D7K as it really was a lovely camera, but a used D90 is about my limit for now.

It would be much appreciated if anyone spots a decent D90 for sale if they could let me know.
