looking at upgrading my ram but need some advise

i am currently using 2gb of ram (4x 512mb all banks filled) of Corsair TwinX PC3200 XL Pro (2-2-2-5) in a Asus A8V deluxe and amd 4400+ x2 and i have just moved to Vista 64bit and would like some advise, should i stick with what i have got or if i would be better to get 4gb of new ram but i don't play games on my system so i don't think i need anything to flash or to expensive as i don't see the point with my old system

so what i am after is some suggestions on what i could upgrade to that will help improve vista 64 without costing to much.

why is that older ddr memory still cost more than the newer dd2 or ddr3.

is OCZ any good ike the OCZ Platinum Series 2GB DDR PC3200 400MHz CL2 ?

managed to get two lots of Geil Value 2Gb PC3200 Dual Chan (Cas 3 8-4-4) so that will give me the 4gb that vista 64bit needs and it only cost £140 total, sadly it wasn't from ocuk they want £190
