hi,
i am currently using 2gb of ram (4x 512mb all banks filled) of Corsair TwinX PC3200 XL Pro (2-2-2-5) in a Asus A8V deluxe and amd 4400+ x2 and i have just moved to Vista 64bit and would like some advise, should i stick with what i have got or if i would be better to get 4gb of new ram but i don't play games on my system so i don't think i need anything to flash or to expensive as i don't see the point with my old system :D

so what i am after is some suggestions on what i could upgrade to that will help improve vista 64 without costing to much.

Seeing as how you've got 64bit Vista, it would definitely be wise to go with 4GB of RAM. You'll want a 2x2GB set, a good example of which is the OCZ 4GB sets. It can be had in the 5300 or 6400 variety.

Couldn't resist :D

You can get 1gb DDR sticks, so you may as well. :)

why is that older ddr memory still cost more than the newer dd2 or ddr3.

is OCZ any good ike the OCZ Platinum Series 2GB DDR PC3200 400MHz CL2 ?

What exactly do you do on your system that requires 4GB? Getting just for Vista 64bit seems bland.

Got same mobo & its very picky about RAM. Has to be matched therefore have to buy a whole new set. & for 4GB DDR, prepare to pay through the nose (if buying new) :)

managed to get two lots of Geil Value 2Gb PC3200 Dual Chan (Cas 3 8-4-4) so that will give me the 4gb that vista 64bit needs and it only cost £140 total, sadly it wasn't from ocuk they want £190
