Have you ever looked at the past receipts for your car and thought wow. I did today and found out the previous bought a set of Wanli tyres for £300 compared to my NCT5's for £240 yesterday!

Also £420 for a thermostat and fluid change!

I know Im not the greatest with cars but even I would have to think what the hell.

there is only one repair receipt, replacing a failed cam angle sensor, was about 130 from the main dealer, pretty reasonable. I love my typically reliable Japanese car :p

£40 for rad £120 for 4 tyres..
And a few other bits and bobs. Fit everything my self and get most parts from breakers.

Still need to get a rear view mirror and a engine tray or what ever they are called.

Even the trusty S-class cant beat £3700 as a single bill. It has around 8-9 years of £1000+ regular bills though :p

NOVA WELDING

£300

I decided to learn to weld after that.

I have an A4 ring binder containing every invoice ever printed for my car over its entire life. There are literally thousands of pounds worth of stuff - he even went to the main dealer to get wiper blades done..

The mini had an unbelievable amount spent on it, the amount spent on one invoice was £200 less than what I paid for the car.... quite unreal really.

Fortunatly we can do pretty much everything that will ever need doing on a mini ourselves, so visits to specialists are hopefully never going to be needed.

Oh I don't know.....

My old man has a box of invoices similar to Fox's, included is wiper blades, bulb changes and even a fuse swap!

His biggest bill is circa £2400 iirc, Inspection 2, 4 Tyres, Exhaust and a few other odds & sods!

Thankfully for his wallet, the car is now looked after by a local garage (after circa 240k miles I doubt a BMW FSH makes much difference!) - His service costs are about half what he used to pay despite the car getting older & the miles climbing higher.
