Looking back..

I don't think the previous owner had anything major done, probably the most spent was at the 50k service in March where I spent almost 800 quid at a specialist getting various service type stuff done.

The bike however, so far 35 quid! 4k service shortly though.

Surely hes one of the VERY view people who do that, i mean...unclip...clip on...and done?

How much did it cost fox? Just wondering.

my car's in at a main dealer because quite a few things need fixing.
i think i stupidly told him it needs new wiper blades :o

although if you're spending the best part of £1k, another £20 here and there doesn't really matter.. at least that's what i'm telling myself anyway :(

Mine was £600 for new springs, i did question weather to keep the car as it is worth less than a grand.

The last MOT did cost £400 though so keeping it was probably a bad decision :p

Oh I don't know.....

My old man has a box of invoices similar to Fox's, included is wiper blades, bulb changes and even a fuse swap!

To be fair, changing the (front) bulbs on my car is stupidly difficult. I'm sure it's the same with some other cars. Great design...

I can see why a lot of people would get a local indy or dealer to swap them out after much frustration...

As for my receipts... The Pug 306 cost just under £300 for a clutch replacement, which was 57% of the car's value :(

So far I've spent almost 900 quid getting various stuff done to the Golf (Full service, Secondary air pump replaced, new light cluster, a breather hose, Boot lock, a few other small misc bits and also resprayed bonnet and bumper to get rid of stone chips), but I did get it pretty cheap so I'm not that fussed.

I will begrudge any more work being done to it though. In fact I have a gut feeling that it seems to be a trouble magnet and I'm beginning to hate it... The scratch that some idiot's put on it has made me really peeved :(

I have an A4 ring binder containing every invoice ever printed for my car over its entire life. There are literally thousands of pounds worth of stuff

Same as, including ALL the MOT's and most tax discs from new, fully stamped service book, original handbook and sales stuff. The car's 22 years old, and there's well over £25k's worth in there. If I'm really bored I'll add it all up one day. :o
