Hey OcUK,

I am on the lookout for something particular, a 2.0 system that doesnt take up a lot of space.

something high quality, my budget it 200-250, and preferably something stylish... I was looking at the Scandyna Podspeaker(s) they go for about £100 each but there is not much reviews on them.

I don't really fancy anything like the creative gigaworks, I want something that stands out from a crowd.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions? Thanks :)

Not a clue what the scandyna are but have you had a look at some hifii equipment?

I was looking for a decent 2.0 setup recently, albeit at a much smaller budget than yours hehe. Ended up getting a Cambridge Audio A1Mk3 and a pair of Gale Mini Monitors from the MM, by far the best sounding speakers I've ever had, and were very cheap too, I imagine had I spent more the quality would be noticeable.

EDIT - It would Appear I've forgotten how to spell.

If you want high quality sound you are going to have some space available, in members market there is an Cambridge Audio A1 amp + speakers going for 110 quid, recommend you have a look, they will blow you away.

Studio monitors can be fantastic but ony if you feed them with good quality media and use a good soundcard or DAC.

I have a pair running off of a Xonar Essence and they sound incredible.

Hey, I'm looking for something similar on a budget of £60-80. So far I am enticed by the M-Audio 'Studiophile' AV30's
(please let me know if this is regarded as a competitor link but as far as I know test-freaks don't actually sell)
I'm looking for a small speaker system for my bedroom, not a hall =] My current setup consists of 2.1 Creative inspire t3100 speakers and an X-Fi Xtreme Audio soundcard. Not exactly high range I know and while I'm constantly reminded the sound card is rubbish by reviews and moaning on forums, it works fine for me and I'm told getting some decent speakers will make much more a difference on my budget.

The AV30s seem to be a good choice for me as they are in my budget and apparently produce great quality sound for the cost/convenience. I am still worried though after reading the odd review that I could go much further with the money but so far that is where I'm stuck.. the jump to amp+speakers as expected leaves my budget in the dust, that and unless I can get a great deal, it would take up too much space..

Hoping the true 'audiophiles' here can give me some advice baring in mind I would like to get a taste of the high quality sound I will be working with in technical theatre, in my room.

Thanks :)
