Looking for a battery jump starter kit

picked up a new battery from carparts4less yesterday - their ebay store currently offering 8% off some of theirs -
which, surprised me, seems an ebay offer, and the actual invoice from cp just shows original price.
was dpd delivery in 24hrs , first exide ever, to replace earlier bosch

Once it's totally flat 9/10 it's knackered

You might get away with it. I ran my battery down a couple of times due to a fault with the alternator.

I was expecting to have to replace the battery but seem to have got away with it.

If there's an explanation for the battery drain and it's something you want to mitigate against them grab a charge pack. But if you're having unexplained issues get it looked at.

I bought a cheaper one (Yaber YR800) in a pinch on Amazon for my daughter to keep in her car, but she just left it in the house, which was good luck when her boyfriends car had a flat battery, I took it out to them, and obviously had no issues on a tiny VW Up.. but I kept it in my car for a while and when our US truck loving guy in work had a flat battery in his 5.7L Hemi v8 Dodge RAM (wholly inappropriate for the UK!) he was asking around for anyone with jump leads of a power pack, and two of us helped out, a NOCO Boost GB40, and this cheaper Yaber YR800..

The Noco tried to turn it over, but just kept cutting out.., so I was a bit reluctant to even try the YR800, but it worked! amazing really, how anything that small can get the current needed is almost physics defying..

Seems OK for £80.. definitely would say that any decent pack is worth the money..

I would definitely over spec it though, if you read reviews, the most negative ones tend to be people using them on vehicles closer to the top end of their claims..

I gave the YR800 to be daughters boyfriend to keep in his car now, but looking at the larger Noco Boost, the lack of proper display and other features means I might take a punt on the Yaber YA60, it's USB C, has PD charging, and DC output, so might offer some flexibility..

Gooloo GP2000

Is the above a decent black Friday deal and will do the job the the following?

Looking to get as cheap as possible a booster to help a failing 2008 diesel Landrover Freelander2 4wd while we sort a replacement car. It's having battery issues and don't really want to "waste" money on a new battery that's nearly 3 times the cost when I'm hoping the car will be gone by January! Plus the booster will do for future.

Car battery is an Yuasa YBX5110 85Ah 800A if that makes any difference?

Is it "decent" and suitable for this car? - seems like it should be fine from specs, but just to check if people see this who know about cars / boosters!?

Thanks

I have bought one of these for a neighbour and whilst it's good for small engines, the 'spec' advertised is pretty delusional.
compared to my 1250A Noco it feels like a toy with half the weight, so I suspect it is closer to 5-600A than what's advertised.

I'm also a tad anxious about having cheap batteries lying around in the car, especially in the hot summer months so avoid unbranded stuff as much as I can.

Get a Noco, it will last years and will be much safer!

I bought one of these last year,

Car Jump Starter, FLYLINKTECH 2500A Peak

£38.00 from Amazon. used it quite a bit and has never failed, small enough to fit in the glove box.

I’ve got the CARHEV 3000A Jump Starter Power Pack. Comes with leads and a strong case, not too big. My PHEV has an aux battery that quickly runs flat if the car is left unlocked.

I have used a Sealey E-Start that uses capacitors instead of a battery and it has been faultless. No need to keep it charged up and I have used a cars flat battery to charge it up to start the car. Keep it in the car now as used quite often at work.

My e-Niro went flat again on Saturday as we were getting ready to go visit family - we had the car open for a while as we were packing stuff, and it seems the 12v battery really doesn't like the doors being left open for any length of time! (plus I also did a nav update earlier in the morning which may have contributed to the battery drain...).

I really can't fathom why the full EV doesn't have the same button on the dash as the hybrid, to force the 12v battery to charge from the main battery

Anyway, I borrowed a jump pack off my car nut neighbour, which worked straight away, so I've just bought the same one:

Didn't need to be particularly powerful as it's not turning a starter, just needs enough to allow the car to turn on and close the contactor with the main battery

It does when driving. But when parked the HV contractor is closed. Common issue on Kias. Especially as they are small batteries and it’s cold
