I've been looking around trying to find out under budget - £2500 and am having no luck. Any places you can recommend? I've tried the usual - Ebay and Autotrader but nothing.

But what he's saying is, a diesel will only save you substantial money (if any) if you do probably 20k a year upwards, and if you're doing that kind of mileage, i know i wouldn't want to be doing it in a tinny, unreliable FixItAgainTomorrow city hatchback.

one that has a decent engine that is

It felt like a tin can, didn't feel overly stable at 70mph and by gosh it took its time to get there. The JTD engine is a very capable engine, a mate of mines dad has one in his duplo and heaps praise on it. But when your doing high enough mileage to warrant a diesel engine, surely one in a better comfier car is a better choice.
EDIT: this was a 51 plate btw.
I take it you mean JTD Multijet thereSmiley Man said:that'll be why then, have a go in one with a proper engine (100bhp JTD lump) and see what ya think![]()

feels solid at 70, and not bad at 120 on our private runway with no children and kittens in sight![]()
Chris1712 said:Why would the engine make a difference to its suspension/chassis feel at high speed.
Smiley Man said:the diesel (especially the HGT) is gonna have stiffer suspension
i can assure you the 1.9 HGT feels planted at 70![]()

it was easy to park though - so my missue would love it.![]()
