Looking for a good adventure game I may have missed

Another vote for Dishonored, can't speak for the second yet as I'm waiting for bugs to be fixed, but the first is by far my favorite game.

I didn't see it mentioned so how about Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor?

Genuinely a fantastic game that feels like it's taken all the good parts of the Batman Arkham games as well as some of the parts of Assassins Creed and made it's own little game which is better than both (imo)

I lost hours just playing around with the nemesis system.

edit: It's currently £8 for the GOTY version on Steam. Completely worth it.

How about a dungeon crawler / adventure game like the Legend of Grimrock series? I've just completed the second one (which is even better than the first, imo), and it has been quite possibly the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had all year. Quite brilliant.

Good thread this. Reminded me of quite a few games that I have meant to play in the past and never got round to it.

Was going to suggest Darksiders till I got down to the bottom of your list!

Not a shooter, but one of my fave adventure / story games of all time is Brothers - A tale of two sons.

Not very long (3-4 hours) and limited replayability but you should be able to pick it up pretty cheap on the Steam sale in the next couple of days. I'd challenge anyone to play this one through without crying towards the end. Just bear in mind you need a controller to play it.

Brothers in £2.19 in the Steam sale at the moment...bargain!

Thanks both, just picked it up.

Admittedly, I now need to purchase a controller :D

Dunno if anyone mentioned Skyrim, if ya do try it, use a mod guide to boost the graphics first, you can get it looking real nice which makes it even more enjoyable playing through.

Castlevania Lord of Shadow has a good background and story i really liked it.

Yes I have that - great game and cool story as you say.

Yes another one I missed off the list. I too loved the nemesis system - I actually over done it a bit by completely taking over all the head orcs with only a few of the actual story missions completed.

You know, I've never really tried these types of games, unless you class Skyrim or Darksiders as a dungeon crawler? After these types of games like RPG hack n slashers?

Both Metro games should be on your list.

Yes, I completed both. Awesome games. Loved them so much I went I bought the book the games were based on. That lap dance scene in Last Light was one of my favourite gaming moments - the attention to detail put in to the graphics for that girl's assets was so impressive! :D

Far cry blood dragon ia free on uplay at the moment. It's basically all the fun of far cry in a neat 4-5 hour package, flavoured with a cheesy 80s vibe.

Have you played the Dead Space games? The first two are really quite good, and the third, whilst is a bit disappointing is still pretty enjoyable.
