Looking for a good online shooter to get into

Hi, could anyone reccomend a good online shooter i could get into, looking for something quite new (2003 onwards) which requires 'some' skill, something along the lines of CSS or Insurgency mod, maybe even something to join a clan in if i get good enough, this is what i have:

CSS
Insurgency mod
BF2
UT2004
CoD2

(might be more

)

Im not sure i would like BF 2142, since BF2 only held my interest for a short time, same with project reality, but if you think its really good i would consider trying it. Another thing i would like is to buy it off steam, but thats not essential.

Rather fast paced, and it's not jsut shooting skills that you need, gotta learn how to move pretty damn quick too (if you dislike bunny hoppers in cs, then dont get this.. strafe jumping is a MUST for a quake player...)

EDIT: having seen another post.. ID games are available on steam now... :eek:

so you might actually be able to get it..

Yep Enemy Territory, since its free and a small download 257mb for the main file, its still quite popular.

Best online experience I have had in a while is Project Reality for BF2. If you get into a good squad (lots of people use voip) it can be really amazing. Its hard though...very realistic. It does however mean that your guns are finally accurate if you use them correctly unlike in BF2 where you shoot the bullets fire in cone.

SOF2 multiplayer (unpatched) is officially dead nothing left but nubs. Gold is worth getting. The hacking in the game is pretty bad, PBBANS show 8,000 bans I think it was and that's on Gold. Wolf is the worst but then again thats a free game.

Battlefield 2 is a great game but beware it has some of the worst players you will encouter in any online game.

World in Conflicts one to look out for.
