Hi

I need an Asus Motherboard that has the VGA Hotwire Feature.

The Maximus IV has this but thats a £300 board, where as the MATX GENE V motherboard is cheaper.

Does anyone have any idea if the Asus MATX Gene V Board has the VGA hot-wire function? i wish to make use of my Direct CU 2's Solder points, and considerings its voltage locked this is the only way to over clock it at all.

If anyone knows of any other asus boards that also do this please lets me know asap

I had to Google what it was.

Finally the VGA Hotwire feature integrates a set of 6 variable resistors and voltage sensors into the board, allowing extreme overclockers to read exact GPU voltages while enabling GPU voltage mods without adding their own trimpots.

I can't see any mention for it on the Gene V and it looks like the sort of feature that would only be on very top end motherboards.

Good luck with that.

It seems a very exclusive thing.

VGA Hotwire

For those that know their way around a soldering iron and want to kick it up a notch, the VGA Hotwire gives users a chance to boost their graphics cards performance. In order to overvolt graphics cards in the past, one needed to have a steady hand to solder, but amidst the numerous tiny resistors in LN2 smoke, that can be a bit difficult. Using the VGA hotwire feature, simply solder two wires on to a graphics card and connect them to a dedicated header connection on the motherboard and you’ll be overvolting your graphics card in no time. It’s easily accessible and adjustable from the UEFI BIOS, OSD TweakIt/Monitor or TurboV EVO screens. It is exclusively available for the Rampage IV Extreme motherboard.
