i havent bought a new game since SC2 first came out, i was going to get civ 5 but declined it after poor reviews and looking at the new dumbed down styl of play [imo]

have and like
SC2,
CandC/red alert up to CandC 3,
crysis + warhead
fallout 3
f1 2010
AVP
COD MW
Civ series
+plus other older games, but i dont want anything older than above

im looking for 1 player games really [cba with online play] so long games wanted, also would like something fairly modern as in graphics are nice, was considering metro 2033 but some say its very linear, worth a shout?

just fancy something new
 
ive never tried a battlefield game

the mass effect seems to get good reviews.. is it one of those games you need to go through both or is just getting 2 ok?
 
Definitely get Metro 2033, it's awesome. Also Just Cause 2 is quite a long game with stunning graphics (can be had for around a fiver if you look in the right places) and seeing as you like RTS, Supreme Commander 2's a good one.

Metro 2033 has great story and atmosphere is line and very short. I would Recommend same as what Murry suggested Mass Effect 1 + 2 both amazing great single player games the story is second is none, make sure get the 1st mass effect as what choice/actions you make affects mass effect 2 and 3.

If you want a FPS why not try Half Life 2 must have pc game master Masterpiece
 
Metro 2033 and the latest Anno are both great, try out Supreme Command 1/2 or Empire/Napolean TW if you haven't already as well.

HL2 needs to be played if you haven't already, and I've found NFS:Hot Pursuit quite fun.
 
yeah if you are after strategy then don't miss supreme commander forged alliance.. the biggest and in my opinion the best ever rts. company of heroes is meant to be good too but i haven't played it enough in mp to give a recommendation..

if someone suggests supcom 2 again then hit them with a stick....its a dumbed down rts made for the xbox.
 
Mass effect 1 (the 2nd was a basic boring shooter IMO), Bad Company 2, Company of Heroes, Oblivion modded is fantastic single player too.
 
supreme commander 2 did get pretty bad reviews, i forgot to add i do have half life 2

ok mass effect gets a fair few votes so will have to pick that up
i have no idea what dragon age is ill have to check that out too
yes i do like strategy but fun games too

loads to look at
