Hi guys,

Just wanted a couple of suggestions for a new graphics card that would put out some decent performance for around £100-£200.

Looking for something that can run some high end games without stressing too much. For example Starcraft 2, Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Hitman Absolution.

Preferably nVIDIA.

Would be grateful for some suggestions so I can do some compairing.

Thank you!

Lower end of budget 7850 2gb.

Higher end of budget 7870XT.

NVIDIA, Gtx 660 is the only one in the price range.

The 660ti is the only one to come close to the 7870Xt.

This, the GTX660 is not really worth the price given the option of the 7850 or 7870.

The 7870xt uses the same core as the 7950 and therefore can be clocked and be almost indentical but cheaper. I would say there is no reason to pick Nvidia in this price range unless you are a die hard fanboi :D

If you can grab a B grade 7850 windforce for £130, the other £70 could be put towards something else, SSD perhaps.

I was actually just having a look at the B grade 7950 which looks very decent, I'll have a quick look at the 7850 and see what overclocking potential that has :D.

Oh and I already have a m4 SSD so something that I am not lacking :) but thank you for the suggestion!

It's looking like the 7950 is only about £30-£40 more so it may just be worth pushing out that little bit extra :).

Do you know if there is any forum posts for the 7950?

If you wanted to spend all of your budget then I would look at these two:

660ti
7870

---

I was shocked to see how close the 660ti is to the 670 actually. But I would suggest doing your own benchmark investigation rather than taking that as gospel. These where Nvidia's benchmarks after all.

---

If you want the best price/perf in the £100 - £200 then probably a 7850, such as this or this.

There is a downside to the Ti and that would be the scaling if SLI was wanted. It's not as goot as the 660 or 7850.
