or if their is a better option for around that price range

I think if you keep your eye, out a reference 7970 might come up at that price. I have seen some at around £370.

EDIT, Just seen a good few for around £360.

Another question, what is your previous card?, and also, would you mind an sli or crossfire setup or would you prefer one card?

p.s. what power supply you running coz that might come into play depending on the option you pick.

my previous card was a 560ti but would like something more powerful this time around, now that i come to think of it my psu is 650 watt so scram the 480 sli maybe i should go for one good card

i guess that the card you rma will be given to you as credit. is you budget 350 plus the money returned for the 560ti, or 350 inc vat full budget?

if its £350 plus the rma'd 560 (£160-£180) = £500-£520, then i'd say two of these:

awsome card, 2gig vram enough for your resolution, overlocks like a demon, (actually matches a 580 once overclocked, 1250 core 1500 ram very easily) and consumes only 150 watts at full load.

if its £350 total, i'd probably go for this:

decent cooler, better that reference one and only a ffew £'s more. once overclocked performs slightly better than a stock 7970. 250 watts full load.

here's the bench for a 560ti versus a 7950:

here's a review of 7870's in crossfire, impressive considering that the score are for stock 7870's. 7870's will clock easily by 25% without adjusting voltages.

Hope it helps ;)

As long as its a good make power suppy you should be fine.

The 7850 is quoted at 130 watts full load. Once overlcocked, more like 150 watts. 2 card would be 300 watts approx so you should be fine.

The 7850 is also a great card once overclocked, and the scaling on these new ati cards is fantastic. 85-100% in most games. Can't seem to find any 7850 crossfire reviews but based on the 85-100% scaling, you can roughly estimate the performance buy seeing the results of a single 7870 here:

P.S. On checking some reviews, the 7870 only uses 1 6 pin power connector,
so as long as your power supply has 2 6 pins connectors, you'll be fine.
