I am currently running windows 7 on an old 300GB HD. The capacity is reaching it's limit and I am looking to upgrade.

I am completely clueless about HD/SSD's and was wondering if you had any suggestions?

I would most likely want to stick to a budget of £200 for both.

Thanks.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-082-SA&groupid=1657&catid=1660&subcat=1665 - If you play games or use large programmes, make a 150gb the first partition and put steam and game installs on that. (it will run faster compared to the rest of the disk.) Then have a second partition that you put all your storage in.

That costs 140 and is a pretty efficient way to spend your cash. You will get something that doesnt require setting up much, a nice fast ssd which will handle most of the stuff you want to go fast, and your platter drive will be big, fast compared to what you are on now, and give you enough storage.

Given you say you are not too sure about new hd tech, this would come as recommended reading;

Totally agree with both those suggestions, so much so its how i do it myself lol.

The samsung drive is a fast drive, that and large capacity too, so perfect for games and storage.
