Looking for a new phone

Hey guys

Basically im looking for a new phone, my budget is around £200 (I dont want contract). Is there anything that tops my current N95:

Must have:

At least a 5mp camera
Must be a smartphone
Must be able to accept at least 8gb memory card

Nothing out there I'm afraid. Not to top the N95 anyway. Would be very much a sideways motion. Wait for some Android phones to come on PAYG towards the end of the year.

You're not going to do any better at that price point. You could try the n82, but it's not really much of an improvement.

Yeah i heard it was a repackaged n95. I can increase my budget if needs be. Irrelivant of budget, any other phones?

iPhone? I know it's not a 5MP but seriously, camera phones are pants anyway, except the K800i.

Can you get iPhones sim free for £200? I thought they were far more?

Having moved from a k800i to an N95, I completely disagree. iPhone camera is worse than useless, wheras the N95's camera is pretty useable.

nah i hate the iphone for some reason, i was looking at the htc diamond but apparently its not that good, any other similar phones?

Best bet is an Android then. I'm not a fan of the current gen of Symbian and the new version should be out sometime relatively soon (next 6 months). Plus there are apparently 20 Android phones coming out this year. Hold off for the new gen of phones, it will be worth it.

why 5mp?

its not th enumber of pixels that matters mate

but the actual quality of the lens

anyway i think u may be able to get a nokia n79 for just over £200 if you are willing.

The Samsung i7500 should be out this month and is what I'm looking to upgrade to (Currently have an n82). It meets all your requirements and way way more. It won't be cheap though, expecially not SIM free/PAYG. The only other thing I'm looking at is the new iPhone but it will have to be pretty special to ward off the Sammy.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought i'd ask here.

I've got a N95 8GB... my vodafone 18 mth contract is up for renewel. Should be able to get a good deal as my bills are approx £45 a month.

What phone should I be asking for, or should I wait as well?

Same criteria as above really as well - 8gb, 5mb cam, GPS, good for internet...

Not sure who thats directed at, but going to answer anyway

Not really sure. I've had it for so long. I guess at the time because it did everything. I really like the GPS feature (use it regulary) and it is very comfy to use on the internet. I also regulary use it at the gym, so the large capacity is useful too.... oh and I like the cam!

hhaha so pretty much every feature so really you want a phone to at least match it

i would wait a bit and see what comes out

the nokia is still a very good phone
