hi,

seen a few mentions of the NETGEAR DG834GT, is there anything better out there, would search but get told o2 is too short needs to be 3 characters no idea what you cant search for 2 characters but there u go.

read that the noise levels can be changed, and being as im on a particularly dodgy line im thinking it might add to my line stability.

anything better around for a similar price ?

cheers............

If you wanted better wireless probably the best option would be a DG834N, but then you're talking a lot more money. Really there's no better choice than the DG834GT in that price range.

And Router + O2 is too long for the search box? :)

Broadcom modem chipset is generally a good idea, hence a lot of people find Netgear DG834 G/Gt/N etc. work well on Be/O2.

You will probably find the modem in a DG834 will sync better and be more reliable than the one in the O2 supplied router.

RE lowering/raising your SNR - lowering will give more speed but may make your line unstable, raising it will decrease speed but will give better stability. Best way to do this is either over telnet using DMT Tool or installing the DGTeam firmware on it and then doing it from the web interface.

as mentioned in my initial post i put router o2 in the search box then it comes back with something like:

The following words are too short and were not included in your search: o2

So hopefully you can see my problem, not sure what i can do to make o2 acceptable

cheers thats what im looking to do as the line currently runs around 2mb (whereas with my previous isp i was on 1mb) , i'll be quite happy to lower it a bit if it stabilises for my gaming.
