Can anyone suggest a good, solid, portable hard drive? Preferrably around 250GB+?

I've currently got a 120GB WD Passport but dropped it recently and it's starting to give me some hassle.

Very expensive for what it is though (320GB version). You can buy a 2.5" WD scorpio 320GB for £70 and buy a Icy Box IB-290St-US-B 2.5" external enclosure for £13 - this is much better as if offers esata too.

I have the older 260stus 2.5", I want to upgrade it to the 290 though lol. and I paid £16 for the 260!

fobose, is the 260 split in two halves, with tiny screws on the sides?

if so, i've got a 3rd party knock off of one of them, it works fine, but the build quality is lacking..

-edit, do you mean the 266?

not being pedantic, it's hard to find some of the models :)

can't understand why ocuk don't stock the 290 and 390, they're cheap as chips and the best of their whole range!

Sorry yes I meant the 266 - it does split in half but the screws are on the bottom so you cant see them. It looks good but having looked at pics of the newer model I would rather have that one. OcUK dont stock the new ones unfortunatly - their loss ;)
