Hey Guys,

Im looking for a projector and screen, i would like it to be 1080p if possable and maby 3D if in my price range and is worth it. It will be mainly used for watching films, some tv and playing games on.

My budget is about £500 - £600 max. Im new to all this so have no idea what im looking at realy. Hope you nice people can shine some light on this subject for me.

I am alos looking for around the 1oo" inch mark for screen size

I wouldn't have thought you'd get 3D for that price if you also want a screen.... Might be better of posting / reading through some threads on AVForums ;)
 
Optoma 750xl is getting good reviews. Only 720p though. Doubt youll get a screen to (im just using cream wall works fine)
 
Thanks for the help guys think im just going to go for a HD230x and up my budget so i can buy a screen.

Can i recommend before you up your budget.

Ive got the GT750XL....DLP link glasses and brought another pair from a well known auction site for £26 quid.

Its outstanding! 1080p, no lag, games play perfect, 3D has various formats including Native support and Side by Side. 2 HDMI ports and has 2 built in 5w speakers.

Advice: It has a short throw lens which means no zoom so you have to position it closer to the screen than a usual projector the plus factor being you can sit behind or stand behind with out getting in the way and casting a shadow.

Gaming in 3D on a 150" screen is a joy and watching 3D films is a nightly event in our house now.

Please dont spend £1000's of pounds on a projector that will ultimatly be slightly better but Bang for Buck nothing beats the GT750 mate its the editors choice on various forums and websites!

Oh and a white painted wall works perfectly well!
