Looking for a quick BIOS flash guide.

its simple,:D

extract the bios f22 to usb stick reboot into bios, press f8 for qflash, then find your usb stick and f22 and hit return,it then prompts you to update then hit yes and that it

Will download the f22 version now..

just been into Qflash and got this

Qflash v.105
BIOS v:F18
BIOS Date:08/21/2012
Flash Type/Size MCIX '342424234etcetc' 8MB

All that tells me is you are using F18, no idea if Qflash is out dated or not.

thats what I thought, there wasent anything saying that the Qflash it out of date? just said the v1.05 ;/..

got a funny feeling this isent going to work out since the @BIOS dident work, going to try it tonight.

@BIOS may need a driver or something else of the driver disk to work, on Z87+Z97 you need to have the app center installed first before @BIOS will install.

it should work ok with qflash,i think its only on older z68 it might need updating

I havnt had to update it on my z77

Sorry to slightly hijack the thread, but when you flash a motherboard do you need to go up through every revision? Or does the most recent version also contain all the previous changes?

you can go straight to the latest one,no issues

Best advice for those worried about flashing bios using bios based utility.

Use a USB STICK that's clear with nothing on it. Download the latest version of your bios. It's absolutely vital you have the correct board bios your intending to flash to match your board.
Once downloaded, unzip or unpack the bios files. You should have a folder or a single file. You only need the ONE bios file, it will be named the bios version and the board - EG ( Z87N-F5 ) and be around 8092kb in size.

You now copy or cut this file onto your USB stick. So it's now the only file on there. Leave the USB stick in the computer, do not remove it. Proceed to restart the computer. Enter the bios utility app, using gigabyte it's qflash. Select update bios from storage. It will then search the USB stick for the bios you just put on there. When it shows up select it. It will show the information of the flash before it starts. As long as your sure it's the correct bios then proceed. Do not unplug or power down the computer. Leave the USB stick in the PC and await for the flash to complete. The system will restart when completed.

It's done. You may need to re-apply changes to your bios if you were clocking at all.

Regards.

I had to do this just the other night, like the fellas said, its quite easy, download the bios update, extract it if its zipped onto a usb drive, then go into bios menu and hit f8 which is usually qflash. From there it should see your usb stick with the update file, the rest it does for you.
