Looking for a replacement / upgrade to a 6600 GT

I have an ageing 6600GT that is on it’s last legs fan wise and I recently got it wet, so thinking I should replace it. Not looking for anything fancy and will properly look for second hand. My question is what AGP card would be a good upgrade on the 6600 GT?

It needs to fit in a shuttle so nothing to bulky

Providing your not looking for fantastic performance then may I suggest the 7600GT if it comes in AGP, I bought one second hand off Ebay for £30 albeit PCI-E

x1950 pro would be even better, if not a tad more expensive failing that 7600GT is not half bad either

ok cool, did it go 6600, 6800 and then 7600, 7800 or were there revisons in the middle? i really have missed the boat with the gcards!

6800 and 7800 were the performance brands, 6800 came first, then 7800

they both have their budget sibling brands, the 6600 and the 7600 respectively

i see! thanks for filling in the blanks, i will keep my eyes open in the MM & the bay, will be buying a new rig in feb/march so just looking for something 2nd hand to tide me over.
