Looking for a single player RPG

Vampire bloodlines is really choppy on my PC. I'm not sure if its badly coded or what but some of the fight scenes are very joggy. I've got a 7900GS and 3800+ with 2gb RAM and i run HL2 flawlessly
You might find that performance improves with some of the patches.

I won an RPG (Diablo clone) made by some swedish company, began with A I think, and had angel wings on the box, and in the character creation screen. But it was too easy in the end. Still a lot of fun for a run through though.

Hmmm, what a useless post.

Sounds like Divine Divinity, or possibly Sacred.

Planescape Torment is absolutley brilliant.

I've also just atarted with NWN 2, that seems really good aswell so far. But tbh my spare gaming time goes on WoW :p

No. It's pretty awful actually.

NWN (I know you've played it but come on, it's got so much replayability its ridiculous. Try a new class, get the add-ons, etc).
BG2 + Baal's Throne
KOTOR I
KOTOR II
Icewind Dale.

Titan Quest will get boring quickly - it's only good fun if you play it with a friend over the net.

I know NWN was well liked, but I didnt care for it much myself. I thought it had potential, but the lack of party-mates kind of got to me.

In saying that Ive ordered NWN2 as I found it somewhere cheap, so Ill give that a shot.

Morrowind
Oblivion
Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2
Neverwinter Nights 2 with Mask of the Betrayer expansion
The Witcher
Mass Effect
Vampire Masquerade

Sorted :)

Phew I've put some hours into those games over the years... especially the top 2

It ran quite well on my computer considering what I had. 1Gb RAM and a 6600GT can't remember what processor I had but it was a 2Ghz single core.

I haven't tried any of the newer fan patches but their supposed to do quite well on the performance side of things compared to the original version.

sacred gets my vote....installed it twice but never actually finished it. Indeed, bring on sacred 2, hopefully they'll let you change the resolution in it !

Knights of the old Republic 1 & 2, Diablo 1/2.

If you upgrade your graphics card then Mass Effect is worth a go.

The NWN1 OC was quite boring too

If you think NWN2 is awful, I don't see how you could like NWN1 at all.

NWN1 was only good in single player after the two exapansions (particularly HotU)

The NWN2 expansion, Mask of the Betrayer, is supposed to be much better story/depth/AI wise than the OC. And the second expansion, Storm of Zehir, is due out soon.

Obsidian said:
Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir hearkens back to the days of the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale franchises by including full party customization, dungeon crawling, and free exploration of a non-linear game world via an Overland Map....
# The world's economy reacts to your adventures and choices. And, through trading and quests, you can expand your merchant company into a massive trading empire.

P.S. I feel like a broken record here :) (not affiliated with him at all, just loved playing PS:T at 1680x1050) but the Infinity Engine games can look pretty good with the_Biggs Widescreen mod here.

And BG Tutu can make BG1 look as good as BG2 (then play in a high res too...).

P.S. Widescreen mod is a bit of a misnomer, it's really an "any res" mod, with the correct aspect ratio. So even if you have your monitor vertically (like a proof reader maybe? :) ) you can still play the game properly, albeit with a funny view of the area.

Thanks mate that link worked brilliantly.
