Looking for a single player RPG

sacred gets my vote....installed it twice but never actually finished it. Indeed, bring on sacred 2, hopefully they'll let you change the resolution in it !

Excuse my ignorance, but if Sacred is so good, why have you installed it twice and never finished it? One of the definitions of a good game is surely that it will hold your attention right up to the conclusion.

Can't speak for the poster in question, but I think I've finished ONE game in the past year. Three year old twins will have that effect on your gaming, doesn't mean the game's no good.

i too have installed it several times and not finished it, i just found it boring and repetitive. i thought the second+ times i'd give it the benefit of the doubt but still ended up feeling the same.

+1 for Planescape Torment and Buldurs gate series.

Some oldies are worth a look for a perspective of play. Realms of the haunting but is a bit shooty. Serveremce:Blades Of Darkness a bit tomb raiderish

Just want to thank everyone for the suggestions here.

After much consideration I ended up getting NWN2. I didnt really enjoy NWN1 but I am liking the sequel much better, now that i have the camera sorted out that is :p

I like the companions, reminded me more of BG2, I really missed them in NWN1.

I dont have MotB yet, but I think I will get it.

If you remember the Eye of the Beholder series, you might be interested to know there is a MOD out for NWN1 - which faithfully replicated the EOB1 game. The mod writers used the original maps etc.

Dreamfall - completed on pc, was a very enjoyable rpg
Witcher - really enjoyed this, great game(surely it will run with graphics low)
Fable (playing this through on 360 atm, not got far, but seems decent)

what did you do / what settings did you use to sort the camera out ? its driving me crazy, especially when I enter a building !

Well you have to turn off an option "Always show ceilings" or something like that, in the options menu.

At the moment I have it set up with Strategy mode and Free Camera - its the closest to the BG2 viewpoint I can get.

Took me some frustrating hours to get it how I wanted it though, some of the options appear to do absolutely nothing when you change them

Vampire bloodlines is really choppy on my PC. I'm not sure if its badly coded or what but some of the fight scenes are very joggy. I've got a 7900GS and 3800+ with 2gb RAM and i run HL2 flawlessly

Might be a driver issue, I played Bloodlines with a 3200 Athlon and an X800XT max details 4xAA 8xAF and it was lag free all the way through.
