Hi

I am looking to build a futureproof PC for a chum.
So I am looking for a board that supports DDR2 for the time being and then DDR3 for the future, but it must also be crossfire capable (SLi at a push) and be a reasonable overclocker.

Does this sound like a board anyone knows about ?? :)

EDIT... actually, he wants an NVIDIA card, so I guess it has to be SLi !!

There are P35 and X38 boards with DDR2 & 3 slots but they only support crossfire. They will take a single 9800GX2 though. I don't know if there are any DDR2 & 3 NF7 boards coming out. As far as i know 750 and 780 support DDR2 and 790 supports DDR3.
 
So the guy can afford to SLI 2 cards, but not to replace his Mobo and RAM come a couple of years time?

Either go DDR2 and save loads and then replace it in a year or 2, or go DDR3, be future profed but be poorer
