I currently have a AMD Phenom 9350e Quad Core 2Ghz on a GigaByte GA-MA74GM-S2H MoBo and am going to build a new system
I intend using the existing board and processor for a second PC

I would like suggestions as to which processor and MoBo bundle I should buy.

I am only interested in a combination greater than what I have at the moment and would prefer one that has more that two slots for Ram.
My Video card is a ATI Radeon HD 5700 series

Any help appreciated.

System keeps freezing

After building the new system I can only get into the Bios for about 40 secs or so when the PC freezes
Cant see anything wrong and dont know what to next
Any help appreciated

Have a go at booting with dual channel and increasing the memory voltage and MCH voltage.

Sorry, yes.

Run with only 2 ram modules installed and boot into the BIOS and see how you get on.

Can you get into PC Health status and look at cpu & system temps.

Try and do a CMOS reset on the motherboard, short the CLR CMOS pins on the motherboard, this sit beside the last PCI slot on the motherboard, do with the mains power off.

I had looked at the temps etc and made sure the alarms were on.
However after doing "Fail Safe" again, I am currently installing Windows
Hopefully the installation will complete.
If so, thats me for the night. I will see what tomorrow brings !!
Thanks for the help

Bugger :(

What PSU are you using.

Edit: Looking at the manual, once you have done the clear CMOS, when in the BIOS go into M.I.T (MB Intelligent Tweaker) and scroll down to DDR3 voltage control and increase to 1.65v (or couple of notches).

Finally !!!
I am now getting somewhere.
Have 64 bit Windows 7 installed

I did as you suggested and raised the voltage but I also took out another piece of Ram. Now only running with 2 Gb ram

Unfortunatly, I did both steps at the same time, so am unable to prove at the moment which was THEE factor.

I am now going to introduce more ram until , hopefully, I reach 8Gb
The four pieces of Corsair are identical.

One piece of Ram is faulty
Am currently running on 6GB
Whenever, or wherever, the bad piece is installed, the system hangs
How do I go about returning it ?

Thanks for tha,t but, how would I now know which of the other three pieces was paired with the "bad" piece in the pack of two, or would it matter ?

Check the serial numbers, on my triple channel memory they were the same bar the last digit.
