I am at work and many game-related websites are filtered. However, I want to pick up something to play this evening. Chrome Hounds looks like a MechWarrior-esque game, which I would enjoy if this were true.

Can anyone recommend this game? And why?

Thanks :)

its not a bad game think i still have it quite good for online and good for building your own robots theres also armored core that looks a lil like chrome hounds aswell .

Yeah I've got it. I 'enjoy' it, wouldn't say it's fantastic, but it's a good challenge, lasts a while too. Never played it Multiplayer so if you're up for it, I'll join you.

If you enjoyed MechWarrior, you'll probably enjoy this.

yeah saw it in shop during lunch time today i'll do quick check as not blocked .

yeah it is you can pick it up for £35

Care to elaborate?

Well i wasn't going to add my opinion as it didn't stand for much as it was a game genre I was never going to like, in fact, I could only stand about 5 minutes of it.

I haven't played it in a while, but its a pretty good mech game.
It's aimed at mutiplayer, the single player is more like a load of training missions for the various class of mechs.

The problem I found was that you need to be in a group to enjoy it properly, so each person can have a mech that fills a specific role.
There's also a persistant online world/map with three "countries" fighting each other for control over regions, trying to get to the others capital. When I was playing, one country was vastly out numbered and often the rounds were over far too quick because of the imbalance.

I'm tempted to go back to it and see how things are now.

Nothing yet, will try the demo first... If I like it, I have found it in town for £20 (second hand).
I got mine on here for £12 posted.

Try putting a post in the wanted section.

Just wrote for 20 minutes about this game then lost the post in a browser spasm (don't you just hate it when that happens).

In summary as I can't be assed to do it all again.

a) The single player game is really just a tutorial for the main game
b) The main game is the persistent online "Neroimus War" .. check out the current state of the war here: http://www.sega.com/gamesite/chromehounds/leaderboard.php
c) Join a clan (check out the xbox.com forums) and then battle up to 6 vs 6 (players or bots)
d) It's slow paced (can be very slow if you play a long range heavy mech) but this adds to the tension
e) I played it to death when it came out and didn't put anything else in my 360 for months
