Looking for free video recording software.

I have a simple microsoft webcam and wondered if it's possible to download a free program that will let me record what it sees over night for example.

Does anyone have advice on good free software out there? It doesn't need to be too complicated and obviously needs memory saving options. I have about 400GB free so I need it to be able to record at least 24 hours.

At first I think you're asking for screen recorder which allows you to record what you can see on your computer screen, then I find that should be webcam recording software or what else. I'd used one called webcam recording master, it provides long-time recording with webcam and generates AVI file in very small size (about 60MB per hour), but it's a shareware in Chinese, so perhaps this one called FreeWebcamRecorder can help you.

Try 1AVCapture

I think you should try 1AVCapture. It does long-time recording, and it can also record, and broadcast live on the Internet at the same time. Recorded files can be as small as 100MB/hour depending on the compression you use, and apart from all that, 1AVCapture can also record audio alone, and whatever else you can see or hear. I for example use it to record YouTube videos and YouTube songs.

1AVCapture is not free but it is cheap and if you ask me, well worth the price.
