Hi guys just one question,

So i've recently aquired an R9 290X 4GB with a EK-FC-R9-290X Acetal and Nickel Ek Water block attached to it.

My current PC specs are:
Fractal Design core 1000 case (microatx case)
i5 2500k
asus p8p67m mobo (microatx)
two 1TB drives in RAID0
two 7770s in crossfire
corsair cx430 power supply

I will ofcourse be upgrading my power supply.

I would like to spend AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE (i'm on a student budget), I will be buying from the UK.

From what i've read up i'll need a CPU cooling block, a pump, resovoir and a radiator right?

Thanks!

Your gonna have to get a new case aswell m8,would be immposible to squeeze a loop in there.

Yes, and 8-10 fittings + tubing, depending on whether you have a separate pump/res or an integrated solution.

As mentioned above, you'll also need a new case unless you're happy to run an external radiator. I'd recommend around 480mm of rad space for that lot.

hmm, is there a way to just have the waterblock GPU cooled and keep the case? I move quite often and need the small form factor of this PC

I've seen it done before like here:

But then again the 290x is a longer card

would it be better to just buy an air cooler? If so have you guys got any reccommendations for that?

do you reckon I could make some money selling the water block too?

thanks!

He appears to have modded his case to accept a 240mm rad in the front, and like you say, the 290 is longer.
Feeling adventurous? :)

You could just have a 360-480 rad on a stand next to the case, or even just lying on it's edge if you wanted.
