Looking for home cinema/ surround sound ?? help

hi, as the title says, I'm looking for a home cinema 5.1 surround sound and not sure which route i should take. i have no more than 100 pound to spend. i could either go for the PANASONIC PT 160EB Home Cinema System which would be connected to my TV and PC. OR. the Logitech x540 PC speaker system which would connect to my PC.(my PC screen is my TV) Which would you recommend or is there anything better i could get for the money. I will be using them to watch films and play a lot of music so would want some good bass. thanks

In this price range your're pretty limited. It's all going to sound pretty gutless. The PC route means you're spending everything on the speakers, which may glean better results than the all-in-one.

Ant

i am new to These HIFI separates and amps. so i have done a little research. Is this the sort of thing i should be looking to get considering i don't have much to spend. Cambridge Audio A1 VERSION 3 Black (Stereo Amplifier). 2 x - Tangent HTD-100 bookshelf speakers . Would a car sub work with one of these amps ?
thanks

i do have a pair of Panasonic stereo speakers as well as a pair of Sony ones. would these hook straight up to a amp ? and i am wondering about the sub as i have a car sub doing nothing so i wondered if it would work with the amp ?

POssibly depends on their ohm ratings and the ratings of the amp. Doubt it with the car sub. But if you start mix and matching speakers from here there and everywhere it's going to sound terrible. Personally I would save up a bit more for a £100 you are not going to get much of a setup
