So as the title says, im currently running a ryzen 3600/b450m mortar setup. Im happy with my 3070 and the rest of the system.

Im looking for MB/CPU/RAM upgrades and I am really out of the loop.

Is there a go to combo these days for this kind of upgrade for around £300? Anyone have any input or first hand experience with this kind of upgrade theyve made themselves?

Cheers :)

my brother literally had this set up, he went to a 5600 and there was a noticeable increment in games, but after grabbing a 5700x3d the improvement was genuinely massive
depending on ram and what cooler you have, for £300

5700x3d
32gb of ram
pcie 4.0 SSD

and you would have a very good system.

Echo what others say, 5700x3d and you're pretty much sorted with that Gpu, I'd even argue you might as well save that money and get a better GPU instead of upgrading the CPU if you're playing at say 4k etc.

Haha thanks for all the replies. Without a doubt the consensus is to go for a 5700x3D... Just to clarify my motherboard is the B450m mortar max (the matx one) will this motherboard handle the 5700x3d ok?
My next question is, how easy is it to do the BIOS update thing required for the new CPU (is there a chance it messes up?)

I'm running 16gb of ram for the bloke who asked.

Thanks again

yes the 5700x3d is a very light weight CPU when it comes to power usage.
not thats its hard to keep cool but what cooler are you running

Can any of you guys who have done the bios update send me to the guide you followed? Ive seen some use USB and some use the Mflash thing? Which is preferred?

Most of the forum ran AM4 CPUs like the 3600 at some point :D
I know I did, it's just a shame it broke after I got out of the care home, otherwise it would have recieved the 5800x3d treatment
Man AMD must have made a crap load, with their newer AM4 chips, it would be funny if they released a batch of 5800 x3ds onto the market again with current prices, talk about creating then feeding the market, and making loads of £, I hope they do that now,!wish I bought AMD shares ages ago!
