Looking for my first 'new' hardtail in 20 years!

I'd like to get back into biking, specifically to get my fitness back. I've got £1000 to spend and have been looking at Boardman 8.9's at the top end of my budget and the Vitus Nucleus 27 VR at the £550 price bracket.

I'm 6'4" so want something that will fit me and be comfy for 10-15 mile rides a couple of times a week. I won't be going mad with tails and jumps but want something that will allow me to grow into more 'exciting' rides.

Any recommendations or help would be great.

If you can stretch the budget to £1100, the Calibre Bossnut full suspension bike is extremely good value and very well specced for the money. It's had pretty much 10/10 reviews across the board.

it’s hard to pick when I can’t go and see them so I’m looking for the best option for returning one if it’s not right.

I’m not sure a full suspension will be right for me as I’ll be doing mostly none racing rides but happy to explore the Bossnut.

Whilst the bossnut is an amazing bike for the money, do you want the weight/maintenance of rear suspension?
