Looking for my first SSD

Hi there - I'm looking to take my first step into the world of SSD. I've always thought that HDDs were the weak link and SSDs seem to have come far enough to give it a try.

I'm looking for a boot drive, 80gb to replace a rapter 10k, budget of under £200. The intel is on offer this week, is this the best one to go with?

That's what I would buy personally. The X25 is a great SSD

That is a great deal on the X25

There's also a 60gb Vertex 2E on offer for £130. That would be a phenomenally quick boot drive.

Just bought the OCZ Vertex 2E 60gig & it is a very quick boot drive,so glad i finally bought one.

I'm also looking to get my first SSD, that vertex looks nice but what is that I read about ACHI? I know my bios is currently set to IDE, if I set it to ACHI when I install windows 7 on the SSD, will it affect my regular hard drives?

Also is there anything first time users should know about SSD's?

Humm the vertex is tempting but I could do with the extra 20gb to install a couple of games.

Reguler Hard disks will work fine with ACHI.
