Hello there, so i bought my pc from overclockers last december
All going good, i just have a few questions about sound as im completely useless at anything to do with mics/sound/speakers etc.
I recently bought http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Inspire-Multimedia-Speaker-Technology/dp/B0028N6YH0, except not from amazon, from pc world, set me back 80 euro.
Before those i was using the build in speakers from my Asus Monitor, using the connection included to the front headphone slot.
The case i got with my pc is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-240-CM.
I use the speakers during the day (so need them connected then)
And the headset during the evening (for gaming/skyping)
I have a http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-001-ST keyboard so i have a headphone slot and mic slot on the keyboard.
I used to connect my headset to my keyboard, have the keyboards headphone connection into the back of the pc and then connect the speakers to the front headphone slot so when i want to use the speakers id just plug them in the front headphone slot.
Ever since i got proper speakers this would make the sound quality bad and if i were to increase the volume up more than say around 30 it would start screaching.
So at the moment i have the headset connected DIRECTLY into the back of the pc and the speaker cable dangling over the front of the pc so i connect it whenever i want to use the speakers, BUT when i connect it the mic doesnt work until i close skype fully or any other similar problems.
Sorry for the long explanation of this but im just wondering what is the optimal set-up, or if there is anything that would benefit me, sound card etc?
Thanks for reading (if you manage to) and thanks in advance for any help.
James.
