I'm currently running the rig in my sig but I have some new parts waiting to
be installed, Q6600, 2 more GB's of crucial ballistix and another 8800GT that I
will be getting in the new year. The only thing that I don't have and that I'm
not sure of is the motherboard. I'm looking for a mobo that will allow me to
sli and that will overclock my Q6600 like crazy:D .

Any advice guys?
Thanks.

Merry Christmas:):):)

780i is really your only choice now if wanting to go SLI

I certainly wouldn't bother with 680i now.as they have no support for the new 45nm C2D

CPU Support Intel Socket 775
Chipset NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI Chipset
Memory Support DDR2 533/667/800/1200MHz SLI-Ready memory
FSB Speed Supports 1333/1066/800/533 Mhz
SATA Header 6
SATA Type 300MB/sec
USB Ports 10
PCIE Slot 3 x PCIe x16, 1 x PCIe x1, 2 x PCI
Integrated LAN 2 x 10/100/1000

I've got an XFX 780i SLI on the way, which should arrive sometime towards the end of the week. I'll have a simliar setup to you but with 2 GTXs instead and will let you know how it overclocks. I had decided on 2 of the 512 GTS but when the GTX is only £15 a pop more each and give better performance at 1920 x 1200 with AA etc I thought that was the better option to go with.

Thanks, 780i it will be then even though its a little more expensive than
what I initialy wanted to spend. But if it overclocks well then the price won't be a problem.

J1nxy, looking forward for your results.

ive had the 680i sli board for about 6 months now, thankfully the evga a1 version, ive been offered the new 780i, which ive accepted, but i can safely say i never had any problems with the 680i, i bought it when most of the problems had been sorted, ive used it with single cards and sli, and its a very easy board to overclock with

A 780i on the way j1nxy? You jammy devil, I can't find a place with even an ETA for arrival. Anyone in OcUK staff have an eta on the 780i boards yet?

Yep :) I ordered a 680i Striker originally not realising that 780i was due this side of the new year, so cancelled that and got a pre-order in for the XFX.

Not from here though!

I just called the sales line and they said OcUK have no idea when they are due but they are expecting the END of January. They expect to have an actual release date at the start of Jan. :(

Who says you have to buy from OC? I bought the 2 8800GTX from here but the baords I've got from elsewhere.
