Hi all, am pretty new to the pc world so please bare with me, i'll try not to kill you with boredom! My knowledge if pretty limited, as for overclocking well.. not a clue unless you can prod your pc with an electric stick and shoot the voltage up.

So im looking to build a pc, yes I like to state the obvious. I want a good solid rig that can handle skyrim and swtor both on highest possible settings (maybe a little BF3 also). Unfortunately my budget is rather bouncy so id say it was roughly £600 without the graphics card that will be bought separately when I have the cash!

So heres what iv thrown together

Case: Red Saturn Gaming Case
PSU: 750W
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail
Motherboard: Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION **
Heatsink: Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3)
HardDrive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD1002FAEX)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)
DVDRW: Sony Optiarc AD-5280S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Graphics MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Now this wont just go up in a pile of smoke if I put these components together? On a serious note, the psu comes with the case (which I found on ebay) yes im trying to cheap here, is that going to backfire on me, is a cheap psu really that different from an expensive one? I just figure higher the number the better.

Secondly, i've hear the cooler iv selected is quite big, so I have no idea if it would fit the case and it also hangs over two of the memory slots so im not really sure about the cooler.

Graphics card i've selected the MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 2048MB is this going to be enough for what I need? Im thinking of pairing two together at a later date maybe.

The system will be running on windows 7 ultimate 64bit

quick bluray question, if I purchase a bluray drive, that will enable my pc to play blurays (obviously lol) but do I need a special monitor or something?

Sorry for rambling on.. its a habit, I just find the whole pc building so fascinating :P

That's a good, mid-range card. It will play most current games on high, but not 'ultra' settings. That usually means just disabling maybe one graphics option.

Never be cheap with the PSU. I wouldn't like to trust a cheap psu supplied with a case, as they rarely output their stated rating and may not have enough amps on the 12v rail. You are risking a nice setup doing that.

Invest in a good quality branded PSU like Corasir, Antec, XFX etc. One of those of at least 550w should be fine for your stated setup but go for at least 750w if you want some extra overhead for SLI and overclocking mid range cards.

need to check the spec of the cooler and case size to confirm it will fit, most of the decentish air coolers are around 160mm tall, so need a case width of at least 180/190mm.

as mentioned get a decent quality psu, you skimp on that you chance losing the rest of the kit if it blows, really not worth it.

blue ray drive go for a retail version unless you already have blue ray playing software.

if your looking to spend that on a mobo go for something like the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3, if not the Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 will do a good job and save you a bit of money to invest elsewhere.

560ti will handle bf3 but not ultra settings as mentioned, but should allow for decent gaming.
