Hi there all I was wondering if i could get a little assistance with overclocking my system. My system is
Gigabyte GA-Z877X-OC motherboard
i5 4670K haswell 3.4ghz
Memory is Corsair Vengance red 2133mhz
Cooler is Bequiet Shadowpro.
Looking at temperatures on Coretemp 1.0 all the temps seem to be floating around the 28 degrees mark so seems cool. In the mobo bios is it only the processor clock speed slider i put up or is there others that must go up with them? Also 1 slight problem is my memory being 2133mhz. I seem to get boot failure messages sometimes at 2133mhz and 1600mhz when i turn it down to 1333mhz it runs fine any suggestions with this?

Thanks in advance

probably you can get 4.0/4.2ghz with default voltages, just changing the multiplier.
what kind of cooler do you have?

Try to check the latencies and voltages on the memories.

I had a 1600mhz memory that would not work at 1600, only 1333... had to replace it.

Hi cheers for the reply my cooler is the Be Quiet Shadowrock Pro sr1 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-002-BQ&groupid=701&catid=2330&subcat=2340
After changing the processor speed I take it under system properties it will still display my cpu speed as 3.4ghz rather than what I have upped it too. Also do you know of good program for checking current cpu speed you can recommend? As for the memory I really dont have much of a clue sorry for being such a noob lol. All I know is I have this 8gb of Corsair Vengance red DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz. If i set the speed to 2133 or 1600 it will initially boot from Bios but after I do a restart I get a boot failure unless I trurn it down to 1333mhz. Do you have any ideas what the latencies and Voltages should be set at?

Thanks again

Thanks I think I know the problem with the Ram now due to my cooler taking up 2 of my memory sockets I have them both plugged into the furthest slots. Meaning the ram is only running single channel. http://s1017.photobucket.com/user/michie118/media/oops_zps8824ea58.jpg.html

Thanks for the program and also your advice seems good about the cpu think I will clock it up to 4.0mhz for starters. What temps are safe when clocked ?

Update I got a bit rough and managed to squeeze the ram into the slot xD. Now it is working in dual channel. Only thing is I turned the System memory multiplier up to 2133 but instead it has made my settings 11-15-15-36 with 1.656v?

You need to find the model of your memory, you can find it on the box or on the memory itself.

Just be sure that your cooler is not making pressure on the memories.

About the temperature under full load I would prefer to keep under 85C (when stressing the cpu), on normal use I like to keep under 75C.
