for my record player , going through a onkyo 9010 amp , need about a 2/3 meter cable . not interested in wireless (bluetooth) not sure if you can get wi-fi ones ?

any recommendations greatly received thank you

oops around £150

As above, HD 650s would likely suit.

Shameless plug, but I've put a pair of headphones on the MM that would suit you (a little over budget, but could work out a deal).

Bought them from a member on here as a brand new item

They're only available from Massdrop in the US :)

£1 a week might not work for me ;)

are higher end £300 +(i know they go into £ks) headphones amp dependent ? meaning would they still work well going through a budget amp ? cheers

Once you hit Sennheiser HD600 or AKG 7XX level of quality. You will be spending £500 more to get at best a 2% improvement.

No point in spending any more than £200 IMO. Just throwing money away. AKG's are best for classical music and Sennheisers for vocals.

For at home vinyl listening, I would look at a pair of Grado SR80s. They've got a lovely open and transparent sound that'll really shine for home listening.

They are open headphones though, so leak sound, and don't isolate much...the build quality is a bit weird, but sound wise, for proper at home listening, I'd go Grado every time.

I got a pair of SR325e about a year ago and they have been the best purchase I’ve ever made. Amazing neutral sound, comfortable and hours and hours of lovely vinyl listening has been had

for music then AKG K702 or K712 (or anything from the 7XX range from AKG) or sennheiser HD600 or HD650 albeit they are over your budget

Can't recommend the AKGs enough. I have the K701s which are almost identical to the K702s, I use them for production as well as listening to music, they're faultless.

The AKGs are great. Beyer DT880s are worth a go too - a wee bit bright but in a good way.

If you're going to be using them somewhere quiet and sound leakage isn't an issue I'd go for open over closed back every time.
