hey all, first post here!

Ill get straight to the point. Im looking to upgrade my old system, a AMD64 3000+, asusK8N mobo, and 1gig crappy ram, Problem is, i just upgraded my GPU to a 7800GS agp version, and its damn sweet.

So, i specced up the 3 parts im looking for, they follow;

Asrock 775DUAL-VSTA Socket 775 PCI-E & AGP / DUAL CH DDR2 / SATA RAID /
8CH HD AUDIO / ATX MOTHERBOARD
£31.45 exc, £36.95 inc.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
Price: £194.99 (£229.11 Including VAT at 17.5%)

OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC5400 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR2
(OCZ26671024ELGEGXT-K) (MY-063-OC)
Price: £69.99 (£82.24 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Total: £349

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if theres anything wrong with the parts i specced up, or if theres any other better options (but i want to keep my gpu)

The total above is around my budget limit

Thanks in advance!:)

You really need 2GB of RAM when your buying new, I dunno what overclocking is like on that board but I'd be tempted to downgrade CPU and up the RAM.

It should all be yeah but DDR2/Core 2 motherboards seem rather fussy so if you can get it checked somehow (either through compatibility list on manufacturers website or asking others) then it'd be a bonus.

I'd definately say saving up to get a 2GB kit is worth it and johnno those boards don't have an AGP slot, he wants to keep his 7800 GS ;)

i dont wanna oc it anyway, oc'd my 98pro a tad to far and ended up making it artifact on default clocks, heh, silly me, that kinda made me stop oc'ing :p

Wouldnt it void my warranty anyway? I prefer to keep it for at least a year incase it breaks and i need to send it back :p
