As title I am looking for soundbase recommendations, I currently have a Q-Acoustics TV3 but I don't think it does particularly well at low levels which it often is as it is my bedroom. Great when banging out loud tunes.
So as I have bought a new TV a Hisense LTDN40K321UWTS

I am looking for a soundbase as opposed to sound bar is unless it could actually fit underneath or rather to the TV then I have not got the space for it to be lying around but I do have a small shelf which currently supports soundbase and PVR.

I don't think I want to spend any more than £200

why does it have to fit underneath the tv?

basically speakers need space, the bigger the speaker the louder it can go and better it can perform.

that's why thin tv's have crap built in speakers.

Basically a set of £200 speakers > £200 soundbar > £200 soundbase

why have you ruled out speakers or a soundbar they are far superior.

Don't soundbases have a larger down firing woofer as well as the smaller front firing drivers that soundbars have?

I thought the idea was that they produced some lower bass without having a separate subwoofer that soundbars cannot.

well my yamaha ysp-1400 has 2 large woofers built into the legs of the soundbar and then the front firing speakers along the middle angled slightly to imitate surround sound.

so no soundbars are superior even if they don't have a seperate sub you just have to buy the right soundbar in the first place.

for the money this

is better than these

or

personally i would go second hand and buy a yamaha soundbar

you could pick up something like this

for £200

As part of my research I have discovered that I can buy a couple of universal brackets to enable a soundbar to be fitted neatly under the TV which might work.

if you can fit a soundbase why can't you fit a soundbar?

why do you need brackets?

this isn't making any sense. is your tv on a wall bracket? if not then why can't you push your tv back on the cabinet and stick a soundbar in front of it?

If my thread is not making sense, please feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to add clarification.

My TV, in my bedroom, is indeed wall mounted as is the PVR and sound base. So a soundbar would need to be fixed to the underside of the TV hence the need for brackets.

Is there a reason not to go for a soundbar which will fit where the current QA TV3 sits? Just go for one with added subwoofer for deeper lows. Unless of course you don't want an added subwoofer for some reason.

No reason at all except I think things would be far neater if it were attached to the TV.

yamaha soundbar all the way.

look on avforums classifieds. you wil be able to pick up a £300-£400 soundbar for £200. I got 2 YSP-1400 off there one for £150 the other for £160.

yamaha soundbars can easily be wall mounted too they are designed for both uses.

Cheers mate I have been chatting to a guy on AV forums and have pretty much settled on the Yamaha YAS105 which I can also add a better sub woofer as it has a dedicated port.

I had that before i got the ysp1400 its okay for the money but your better off spending a bit more the difference is huge.

I paid £160 for the yas 101 brand new which is the older model which the only difference is it doesnt have bluetooth.

I then paid £150 for a second hand ysp1400 its a huge upgrade in quality.

The yas was good but its the budget model. So its not going to blow anyone away who is used to a decent setup
