Coming from an LG 34GK950F 34 3440x1440, it has finally died after 7 years with the usual data ribbon melting itself. I've pre ordered an MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 34" 3440 x 1440 360Hz, but no eta. Thinking to maybe refund and get something else if it's gonna take ages.

Wondering if there are any other contenders or better options for around £1k. Primary use is gaming. Any help is appreciated.

360hz seems crazy high unless your a competitive gamer, there are other 5th gen olds cheaper.

What's minimum refresh rate you want ?

I consider myself quite competitive. :p Higher the better. Honestly the price difference between this one and the lower refresh rate versions is pretty small considering.

I think size wise those might be stretching it for my desk. I'll take a look at the others though, thanks. :)

AOC version has been announced and should be about £750/800, I'd wait for that personally (US price of $829).

You’d need a bonkers CPU to hit those kinds of frame rates and from what I’ve seen even cards like a water cooled 5090 ROG Astral overclcoked to within an inch of their existence won’t hit even half those kind of rates.

yeah not many games get that sort of fps, perhaps Doom/Doom Eternal and that's about it. Also some game engines have issues with very high FPS don't some crash or have a frame cap anyway
