Saw someone comment on 5ubs eyes in a picture and it made me think to make this thread.

I've always had redness on my eye lids and bags under my eyes ever since I was a boy, when I was young I remember a lad at school saying I looked stoned. I've also been asked if I'm hungover when I'm not in the past.

It doesn't bother me much these days and I'm not looking unhealthy or anything. But I do think I'd be even more handsome than I already am if I had normal folk eyes! ;-)

I sleep 6-8 hrs per night and drink occasionally. My diet is admittedly crap but I gym it frequently and I'm in decent shape.

Does anyone else have this going on?

I'd love to be able to fix it. Only option is Probably thousands of pounds worth of surgery.

I often turn up at work in the morning to be asked, "are you just coming off nights?". I've given up trying to look more awake/refreshed. Not going to happen.

I find that the more sleep I get, the darker the skin under my eyes looks.

At the moment as I'm on hols from work, I have been sleeping longer than normal and look more tired for it!

You're not alone mate, your experiences sound eerily similar. I have always had dark bags under my eyes, at school I never smoked or did drugs and was the archetypal 'good boy' yet I often got called "druggie" or by the 'ard kids (ironic seeing as they were the ones who actually took drugs). Even my friends nicknamed me 'panda' at the time (which at least was amusing I have to admit).

But on the brightside, when I did go to Uni in my 20s and got sucked in to smoking the odd doobie it was great because that's how I looked anyway so could get away with it before lectures etc (probably why I only got a 2:2).

I could put up with being called tired if I'm honest, because in a previous job I was publicly accused of being a smackhead by my manager. The reason? The eczema on my arms.

Being called a smack head would probably induce some rage in me. Someone would get a smack in the head for that lol.

I've seen medical conditions mentioned online. Like blepharitis, however that is dry skin and soreness in the eye lids but mine are absolutely fine, just kinda veiny on the surface by my eyelashes.

Just gotta deal with it I guess!

My eyes go incredibly bloodshot after a couple of drinks, chlorine, sleep deprivation, dehydration, or staring at computer screens for a long time.

I get asked if I'm high a lot.

My work nickname is stoneman.. For the exact reasons that i look stoned a lot when it is infact my sleep deprived state of working stupid shifts associated with my job.

Im used to it. Everyone laughs about it as do i so no harm

I hope that if I'm stoned for enough of the day, people will begin to think that it's how I look normally, and then I'll not have to worry :D

I could go to work drunk or stoned and people wouldn't bat an eyelid. Its my normal look.. They would only know from smelling it on me. But even then the smell of a brewery lingers in the air a lot when our crew get on site

I have the same thing, always used to get asked if I was stoned, they are pretty squinty eyes to be fair.

Don't get it now mind.

get a blood test from your GP as you might be deficient in something which is easily fixed.

or start taking vitamin&mineral tablets, often a crap diet is to blame

Have this from time to time also. I use stuff called Simple - kind to eyes roll-on which works very well. I suspect it's a lot to do with looking at computer screens for extended periods :(
