Hi I'm going gtx480sli and have seen user pictures with a 12cm fan mounter internally pointing at the graphics cards on a kind of rod thing attatched to the base of the case. Where can I get these and which 12cm fan would you recommend for maximum effect without hoover-like whineing?

No it's a 70mm fan. The good thing about this fan is that you can position it anywhere and point it directly at where you want the airflow. You could also rig up a ghetto mod with a 120mm fan and maybe some cable ties or string and achieve the same result.

I love that thing. I had one pointing at the intake fan of my 5870 running at medium speed, and honest to god, it took load temps down 8 degrees.

Got the spotcool behind my 470's, great little piece of kit, however the supplied fan cable is a bit short.

Previous to the spotcool, i had a ghetto mounted 1500 rpm 120mm fan behind the cards.

Basically cable tied to the 24 pin atx power cable and suspended with an old shoe lace.

Hah it was your ghetto mod that prompted me to suggest the idea Setter.

Better temps now with the spotcool?

Pretty much the same temps, 33-32c at idle, 66-64c in bfbc2, without either mod the top card was running 10c higher than the bottom one, cards oc'd at 750/1500/1674. The spotcool just looks a bit better lol.
