Looking to buy 24" Monitor but need some help.

Quick question and to slightly hijack the thread: Is the dell U2312HM the same as the dell U2412M but just an inch smaller, or are there greater differences? I can't really find any differences on the spec...

It's an inch smaller and the U2312HM has a resolution of 1920x1080 whereas the U2412M has a resolution of 1920x1200. Main differences I know of.

Ah yes, I forget the aspect is 16:10 for the U2412M whereas it's 16:9 for the U2312M. Does the resolution make a big difference and is the U2312HM still worth it bearing in mind it's around £190 or are there better options?

I find 1920x1200 to make quite a difference over 1080p. You gain noticeable desktop space and it's not as hard a hit on a gpu like 2560x1440...

Is it worth paying the extra £30 for the U2412M or not, is there that much of a noticeable difference (other than screen size).
I've got 2412m today for 210£ and it is great well please with purchase.
I had lg e2251,and samsung S24A850DW,and my dell is much better than samsung.can go wrong with dell.recommend

Thanks Jim that's good advice; I am seriously considering the Dell U2412M (or better model) and the Asus VE248H because I actually really like the design; and specifications. I think if I am really not happy with the ASUS I will return it and purchase the DELL :-) thanks for your help guys

Hey guys I bought the Asus VE248H in the end and I'm glad I did the image is absolutely beautiful and perfect; million times better than my iiyama E2407HDS was. Going to spend some time calibrating the monitor properly to get the best image but it already looks amazingly vibrant. I got a really great deal from amazon warehouse on a returned item and I think it's perfectly good and didn't need to spend the extra £100 on a Dell monitor... although I think the dells look amazingly colourful I just couldn't justify the extra dosh and spent it on a HAF932 at computer fair today instead :P
