I have multiple computer's and need to shift data between them quite regularly. I'm looking for a 500GB external hard drive. It needs to be extremely reliable and also fairly quiet. Speed isn't too much of an issue though really as it's only data storage. Any recommendations??

id recommend the western digital mybook pro edition drives. I have the 250gb one which i use for backups from my macbook pro. These drives review well and the firewire 800 allows real good transfer speeds. Definitely would recommend to others. If you dont have firewire you could just get one of the usb only versions. Its worth checking them out.
