Looking to buy first SSD, quick question

Hey all im looking to buy my first SSD and while I havent checked up on any new SSD's that have came out at the time the 840pro was the most recommended in regards to price and performance, is that still the case or are there others challenging it/better than it now? thank you

840 Pro is still top of the pile. The 840 Evo is a contender, it uses less robust flash but has similar performance at a lower price.

depends what boards your using,for full rated speeds intel sata3 controllers/ports are needed,not sure on amd boards

the evo is the best value for money,doubt you'd notice any diff from that compared to an 840 pro
