Looking to start WC

Well I've got mine up and running... Took a bit longer than I expected. Built it all over the weekend, leak tested it, plugged the motherboard back in, booted it... 10 minutes later my PC switched itself off and wouldn't reboot! Had to get an RMA for my motherboard. Grrr!

Fitted my replacement yesterday and its all up and running now. It runs a fair bit cooler than before. My temps before were around 45C idle and 60C + under load with my 6300 at 3.3GHz. Now it runs around 30C idle and 45C under load. Do those temps sound about right? Didn't lap my 6300 in the end, and I think it still needs doing, it is horribly concave. My X1900XT idles at around 30C and doesn't seem to get that much higher after a bit of a thrashing.

Next thing I need to work on is quietening it down a bit.. What fans do you lot recommend for a Thermochill PA120.2? Is it worth 7ving them or putting them on a fan controller? Also need to figure out a way of mounting the rad to the back of my case...

Bad luck with the mobo, but sounds like you got there in the end though

Temps look pretty good mate.I use Nexus D12SL-12, fans on my PA120.2,do the job very well & are quiet. You could just 7v the fans you have just now & see how you get on though

You could always get a swiftech radbox for mounting the rad on the case ;)

Get some pics up in the watercooled cases thread

Managed to find a Radbox, not that expensive and looks exactly what I need. Cheers:)

Am going to get another S Flex fan because I think theyre quite good and then rig them both up to a fanmate or something. Is it better to have them pushing or pulling through the rad? Or is it pretty irrelevant?

damn street, thats a pretty big difference between air and WC!

In speedfan, what is the temp of my CPU? I'm guessing its the core one?

This all sounds very good! Well done guys for going custom ;)

I'm happy to say that after a fart on with the Radiator install I got my loop up and running last night, and is currently leak testing. I'm gonna post a seperate thread with all the juicy details and also some pictures later!
