I'd pop a new HD in the rig as well, your old one my prove to be a bottleneck for the rest of the rig.

Hold up, what are you going to be using the system for?

X6 really isn't very good for gaming, so an X4 would be better.

Sandybridge i5 2500k system can be had for £330 atm - which will blow anything AMD has out of water!

System I would get:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor with FREE Lost Planet 2 PC Game - Retail £184.99
(£154.16) £184.99

Some benchmarks:

As you can see, i5 2500k trounces it in everything!

Because you end up with a lot of cores sat there doing nothing, and it has a relatively low clock speed.

In all honesty, SandyBridge is your best choice atm, look at the benchmarks!
For a similar price you're getting much better performance.

On the cooler you have atm you can easily overclock the i5 2500k to over 4.4GHz (max you can realistically get with that cooler on a Phenom is 3.8GHz) so it will be even faster.

Ok thank you very much , maby i wil go for the sandy bridge , i dont really understand the i3, i5 and i7 names , how many cores does the recommended if sandy bridge actualy have?
